Acknowledgement
The writing of the textbooks, the preparation of the experimental instructions as well as the production of the accompanying videos, and the authors‘ participation in national and international conferences were generously supported by the Eduard Job Foundation for Thermo- and Matter Dynamics.
The university-affiliated foundation was established in 2002 by Dipl.-Ing. Eduard Job, an entrepreneur in the field of fire protection. His commitment stemmed from the particular importance of thermodynamics for the development of his company’s products and a strong personal interest in the subject. Eduard Job regretfully passed away on February 2, 2009. First, his heirs continued to support the foundation. In 2017, his brother, Dipl.-Ing. Norbert Job, thankfully took over this task.
The aim of the foundation was to support programs that lead to improvements in the teaching of physical chemistry and physics at schools, colleges and universities, with particular emphasis on the didactic concept developed by Dr. Georg Job.
